Overview
Evolocumab is a monoclonal antibody that works by inhibiting proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) to lower LDL cholesterol levels. It is prescribed to patients with certain genetic conditions leading to high cholesterol or those with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease who require additional LDL lowering.
