Perampanel

Overview

Perampanel is a non-competitive AMPA receptor antagonist used as an adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures and generalized tonic-clonic seizures in patients with epilepsy. It works by reducing the excessive excitability of neurons in the brain, which is a hallmark of seizure activity.
