Ethacrynic Acid
Overview
Ethacrynic acid is a loop diuretic that inhibits the Na-K-2Cl symporter, reducing renal reabsorption of sodium and chloride, leading to increased diuresis. It is used primarily for the treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, renal disease, and liver cirrhosis.
