Capecitabine

Overview

Capecitabine is an orally-administered chemotherapeutic agent used in the treatment of various cancers, most notably colorectal and breast cancer. It is a prodrug that is metabolized to 5-fluorouracil, a molecule that inhibits thymidylate synthase, thereby blocking DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing tumor cells.
