Tolcapone

Overview

Tolcapone is a potent, selective, and reversible catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitor used as an adjunct to levodopa/carbidopa therapy in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It works by inhibiting the breakdown of dopamine, thereby improving and prolonging the effect of levodopa.
