Ticagrelor

Overview

Ticagrelor is an oral antiplatelet agent that belongs to the class of cyclopentyltriazolopyrimidines, used to reduce the rate of thrombotic cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome or myocardial infarction. It works by reversibly inhibiting the P2Y12 receptor, preventing platelet activation and aggregation.
