Minoxidil

Overview

Minoxidil is a vasodilator that is used to treat high blood pressure and is also used as a topical agent to promote hair growth in the treatment of male-pattern baldness. While originally developed as an oral medication for hypertension, its hair growth promoting effects were discovered serendipitously.
