Deferoxamine Mesylate

Overview

Deferoxamine Mesylate is a chelating agent used to remove excess iron from the body in conditions of chronic iron overload, such as thalassemia or secondary hemochromatosis. It forms a stable complex with iron, which is then excreted from the body, thus reducing iron concentration.
